why i won't shop at walmart

i saw something in the ironic/funny/stupid/douchey t-shirt section of walmart that royally pissed me off.

you know the section.


it is filled with shirts like this:















they are all stupid, funny, ironic or douchey t-shirts. however, there was one shirt in the section that stood out to me. it was a shirt that didn't fit.










a shirt with the special olympics logo on it does not belong in the section of shirts that are meant to be funny and laughed at.


i am not easily offended, but i find this to be despicable. how dare walmart suggest that the special olympics is something that deserves to be made fun of. how dare walmart suggest that the special olympics is something to be laughed at.




raising money and volunteering for the special olympics is something that i am very proud of. it is an organization that gives persons with intellectual disabilities the chance to compete in sports, learn life lessons and become productive members of our society. however, walmart thinks that it is ok to make fun of it.



i don't know if i will ever feel comfortable shopping in a walmart again.
