facebook cures cancer

for the past few days i have seen this status all over my facebook page:

Most people have 1000 wishes for Christmas; a cancer patient only has one, to get better. I know 97% of you won't respost this to your status, but my friends will be the 3% that do. In honor of someone who has died, or is still fighting, or survived cancer, copy this to your status

what an incredibly depressing thing to write on your facebook status. therefore, i wrote this on my fat kid rocks facebook page:

hey facebook! people who have cancer wish they didn't have it, i get it. stop with the status updates of "people with cancer don't want to die for christmas"

and here comes the hate.................

my favorite is the comment: "how do i unlike fat kid rocks?"

so, it's funny if i am offensive unless it is offensive to you?

not to mention text after text after text from my wife telling me how awful it is that i posted that.

look, no one wants to have cancer. and no one wants to die on christmas. i get that. what i don't get is putting some depressing shit like that on your status.

i understand that you had a loved one that died of cancer or a loved that is battling cancer. so do i. i have lots of family that have had cancer, currently have cancer and that have died of cancer.

but, honestly, read this again: Most people have 1000 wishes for Christmas; a cancer patient only has one, to get better.

really?? they just want to get better?? no shit sherlock, they have fucking cancer. but guess what, writing that on your status doesn't help. at all.

and me pointing out the fact that it is useless isn't wrong by any means.

do you want to help in some way? donate - cancer.org

and stop with these pointless postings on facebook
